Asbestos related illness
At Norman Jones we specialise in clients suffering from asbestos
related diseases including pleural thickening asbestosis, mesothelioma
and lung cancer.
Pleural thickening is scarring of the lung caused by asbestos exposure
which can restrict breathing (expansion of the lungs). Symptoms of
pleural thickening are both pain in the chest along with shortness
of breath.
Asbestosis
is a form of lung fibrosis which is caused as a result of long term
heavy exposure to asbestos. Sufferers will experience shortness of breath,
pain, discomfort, and other debilitating symptoms.
Mesothelioma
is a form of cancer affecting the lungs (and less commonly the peritoneum
or the lining of the abdominal cavity). The only known cause of mesothelioma
is asbestos exposure. The most common sufferers of mesothelioma have
contracted the illness as a result of work-related exposure.
Lung
cancer (certain forms) can be caused by exposure to asbestos if there
has been high levels of asbestos exposure.
If
you or a relative are suffering from one of the asbestos related conditions
or if a relative has died as a result of mesothelioma it may be possible
to bring a claim against the former employer or their insurance company
